What should I do after I report my claim…?

Report your claim as soon as possible. After doing this, be sure to take any necessary steps to prevent further damage, or any additional damage that results from your neglecting to do so may not be covered. Whatever you do, DO NOT begin any permanent repairs or dispose of any damaged property before an adjuster sees the damage, or your loss may not be covered.  You may even want to take photographs of your loss to substantiate your claim. Also, keep all receipts throughout the claim process for any replacement items or any items that might qualify as additional living expenses (lodging, water, etc.).
